Sparrow for iPad In The Works

Sparrow for iPad is on the way.

The team behind GottaBeMobile’s favorite iPhone email app launched a landing page for Sparrow for the iPad this morning.

Unfortunately there are few details about the new iPad email app, but it is exciting for anyone who receives and sends a lot of email.

The Sparrow for iPad landing page offers a sign up to be notified when it is ready, teasing, “We are preparing something bigger.”

The Sparrow team is not leaking any details, but if the Sparrow for iPhone launch is any indicator we’ll soon see some screenshots as they drum up interest for the app.

There is already a homebrew version of Sparrow for the iPad for users who jailbreak the iPad. The app is not perfect, but it shows what Sparrow for iPad might look like.

I’m looking forward to Sparrow for the iPad as I have no great way to check email on the iPad.

When I asked What’s the best way to use Gmail on the iPad, I longed for Sparrow on the iPad, and it looks like it is finally on the way.

In addition to handling multiple email accounts easily with a unified inbox, Sparrow works great with GMail’s Priority Inbox feature to display only the email you want or need to see. Sparrow also allows users to swipe between email conversations, shows the faces of senders based on their Facebook profile photos, makes it easy to switch email sender accounts and more.  Sparrow works with IMAP accounts like Gmail, iCloud, AOL, Yahoo and custom IMAP accounts.
