When Apple Pay arrives in October it will be easier to slim down the number of cards I carry. Apple Pay uses NFC inside the iPhone 6 and Passbook to let users make payments with any of their credit or debit cards and Touch ID. You don’t need to carry the card with you, but you’ll still need ID in some cases. Another factor to consider is not many stores accept mobile payments yet, which is another pain point and a reason to buy an iPhone 6 wallet case like this.

There is a lip on the front edge that keeps the iPhone 6 screen off a table or the counter when you inevitably sit this case down after taking your card out. This helps prevent scratches on the iPhone 6 screen and adds some added drop protection.

It is easy to put the Speck CandyShell on and to take it off thanks to the easy to move rubber grip and interior cushion. You don’t need to do this often, but I prefer to take this case off at home in favor of a super-slim iPhone 6 case.

The only real downside to this iPhone 6 wallet case is the shiny black finish collects fingerprints and scratches. The photo above shows the scuffs and wear after a week of use. This doesn’t impact the ability to use the case by any means, but it would be nice if the finish stood up to more abuse.

Speck lines the inner part of the case with a shock absorbing lining, that also covers the volume and power buttons. There is an opening for the mute switch and for charging. You’ll have no trouble using the buttons or charging, even with thicker lightning cables thanks to a wide opening at the bottom.

You can still access the charging port and headphone jack easily.
