The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2014 iPhone app is a digital companion to the SI Swimsuit issue that is on shelves this month, but it is more than just a companion for users that want the ultimate look at the Swimsuit models.

This free app allows users to take a look at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models, including Kate Upton in zero gravity and much more, but users will need to pay for an in-app purchase of $7.99 or $9.99 to unlock all of the content, or enter their Sports Illustrated subscription information. The lower price is for the 2014 content, or pay $2 more to unlock 2012 and 2013 as well.

Users can see over 200 new photos and 60 videos categorized by model and by location. The app includes swimsuit photos and videos as well as bodypaint photos and videos. Users can view all of the photos and videos on the iPhone, with pinch to zoom for a closer look.

The app also supports AirPlay to an Apple TV to see photos, videos and the 360 degree bodypaint models on a bigger screen. The bodypainted models Emily Ratajkowski, Hannah Ferguson, Samantha Hoopes, Cris Urena and Lauren Mellor are available to see in 360 degrees with a dial to rotate while using AirPlay or simply with a swipe on the iPhone.

The included videos show models on location during photo shoots and some behind the scenes shots in addition to the now famous Kate Upton zero gravity video shown below. There are two Kate Upton Zero G videos included in the app, which users can watch on the iPhone or on the Apple TV. SI doesn’t discuss the resolution, but it appears to at least be 720P in the app.

With the paid upgrade users get to see every image from the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2014 magazine. Users can save the photos to the iPhone to use as a wallpaper or lock screen image and can send them via email using an in-app option as well. The 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit app includes Kate Upton, Nina Agdal, Chrissy Teigen, Hannah Davis, Lily Aldridge, Kate Bock and many others. The full version also includes “legends” like Christie Brinkley, Tyra Banks and Heid Klum as well as an “Athletes” section with Alex Morgan, Skylar Diggins and Anastasia Ashley.

There is a lot of content in the 2014 SI Swimsuit app and the design and app features mean users can view images as a slideshow or by tapping and swiping with images on the phone or on an HDTV.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit app is only available on the iPhone, and there is no iPad version or an Android version.
