Sprint iPhone 5 Memo Signals Truth in iPhone Rumors

Published

on

The iPhone 5 is expected to arrive in October, and one of the latest rumors is that Sprint will finally be getting the iPhone.

Up until this weekend, Sprint had remained mum on this rumor, but in a memo sent to employees, Sprint may have confirmed the iPhone 5’s arrival with a classic denial.

In a memo sent to Sprint employees, and obtained by Sprintfeed, corporate tells employees not to comment on the iPhone 5, telling them to give customers a “no comment”, and if pressed, employees can say that they know about the rumor and direct inquiries to the Sprint Newsroom for more information as it becomes public.

If you take the memo’s word for it, Sprint has nothing to say about the possibility of an iPhone on the company’s network this fall, but if you read between the lines, it becomes evident that Sprint executives are pretty certain that the iPhone 5 will land on Sprint in the near future.

If Sprint was really not getting the iPhone, the company would have likely directed employees to give customers a “No” instead of a “No Comment”, and that’s not all.

There’s no way that Sprint wouldn’t take the chance to try to sell the another phone to the customer. This memo would have been full of talking points about why Android smartphones beat the iPhone.

Sprint hasn’t announced that it will get the iPhone, but this is as close as we’ll get to acknowledgment before Tim Cook announces the next iPhone.

You could read a number of other things between the lines as well; all equally as likely as Sprint getting the iPhone 5 (among them, Sprint not getting the iPhone 5).
