Students Can Download Windows 7 for $29

Published

on

windows7_students_29College students in the U.S. shouldn’t rush out to buy retail copies of  Windows 7. Instead,  they can download a full copy of Windows 7 Home Premium for $29. Anyone with a valid .EDU email address can score the deal over at Win741.com. Some students can score free copies of Windows 7 through various programs, but this is still a great deal for others.

I believe you can also get Windows 7 Professional through the same offer.

I got a license through the UK version of this offer, and while the Default is Home Premium, if you look around a little when Placing the order, there is a link to get the Professional version for the same price.

Going for the Professional Version is definitely the Better bet, especially as there is no difference in Price.

Wow, I’m really impressed there. Really great that MS realizes and considers the state of the college student.

I wonder how much the regular retail version will cost tho.

I don’t know too much about Windows 7 at all but I hope it’s a worthy upgrade. At least it’ll be better than Vista, right? Right?

I ordered this as well. Just keep in mind this is only an upgrade copy and not a full copy. They don’t tell you this until after you purchase it. I have Windows 7 RC installed on both of my laptops but I will not be able to install this upgrade unless I reload Vista on both of them which would take me about 12 hours so I don’t know what I am goind to do. Just make sure you have Vista loaded on your current computer so you can use this easily. Good Luck!

If you’re a student, you should check out your school’s MSDN-AA program. I was able to get both a 32-bit and a 64-bit copy of Windows 7 Professional free of charge. These are full versions too, not just upgrades or release candidates.
