Tablets, tablets and more tablets create Google Doodles

Published

on

Sunday Morning on CBS took a look at the people behind Google Doodles, you know, that fancy art they do for their homepage logo everyday. No surprise, at least for us, the creation process shows a lot of Wacom Cintiq tablets. Great showing for pen input. But what’s this? A Tablet PC? Score!

The tableteer here is Dennis Wong Hwang, the man who started the Google Doodles. No mention of which model Tablet PC he’s using, but I’m sure someone here knows which one it is. Please field your guesses in the comments.

One more thing: it amazes me that Google has a team of four artists just to create new logos. Yes, they have to create those new logos every day, but who would spend the resources to change their logo every day? Only Google.

Clearly its a Lenovo, and the widescreen aspect ratio tells me that it’s at least a x200t or x201t. My money is on the x200t and pen-only screen because the bezel is flush with the display. I believe that the x201t is only-multitouch, so it wouldn’t have that, but I could be wrong.

BTW – I have an x200t (w/ pen-only screen) and I love it! My only regret is that I didn’t wait until they put the multitouch screen in it…

Definitely a Lenovo ThinkPad X200t series tablet. Google issues ThinkPads and/or MacBook Pros to its employees.

I think that’s Dennis Hwang (not Wong) pictured.
