LG Watch Phone Video Demo
LG unveiled their upcoming touch-based watch phone to a bunch of ooh’s and ahh’s around the press room.
At Digital Experience tonight, we got an up-close demo and got it on video. Look for this touch-based watch phone to be released later this year. No word on carriers.
By the way, the LG rep wouldn’t let us record the buttons he was pressing to activate the screens that we ended up seeing. That part could not be filmed.
Video after the break. Continue reading
Where’s the LG Netbook?
We stopped the LG booth at CES Unveiled - they didn’t have their netbook tonight, but indicated that we should stop by their booth on Thursday when CES opens. LG plans to “unveil” it then….
You’ll know where we’ll be.
LG Gets Into the Netbook Game with the Momo X110
One thing I’ll give most of the companies jumping into the Netbook fray. They at least are coming up with names. That is certainly better than just stringing some letters and numbers together and calling it a product name. I won’t comment on the “stickability” of some of the names though. LG is entering the Netbook wars with the Momo X110. Yep. That’s Momo and that is short for More Mobile. The Momo also features an embedded 3G option. The Momo X110 also seems to have a keyboard solution that might make some happy, as it offers full size enter and shift keys. No word yet on pricing or availability.

CES 2008: Impressions of The LG MID
The LG MID has captured a lot of attention. Sierra and I got a close look at it today at both the Intel booth and at the LG booth. We both like the form factor, and I like the feel of the keyboard, but it feels curiously like LG took the OQO form factor and rounded off the edges a bit. That said, it feels great in your hands. Unfortunatley we won’t be seeing this MID here in the US, as LG will only offer them in Europe, Asia, and Canda. I’m not sure I like the way the stylus is stored in a portable case that is tethered to the unit instead of the usual garage. LG also calls this a UMPC (Boy do we have confusion in this space regarding naming and branding.) Anway here are some pics.

LG Prepping Large Multi-Touch Screens
We’ll be keeping an eye out for this at CES. LG is going to be showing off multi-touch displays at CES in both 52 inch and 84 inch varities. Supposedly they are the largest multi-touch displays yet. From what I’m reading in this Electronista article they use an IR interface to register only two points of contact. With Bill Gates reported to be showing of the Surface Table during his CES Keynote, it should be an interesting CES for multi-touch enthusiasts.
