As mentioned earlier, DRS Tactical Systems is releasing a new Tablet PC that features the small and fast Intel 310 Series solid state drive. Just announced are the details of that release, a smaller, lighter brother to their X10, the ARMOR X7.

In addition to launching the T-Mobile myTouch 4G today, the self-proclaimed nation’s largest 4G carrier is also shipping the rugged, yet consumer oriented Motorola Defy, an Android 2.1 handset that begs to “defy” the elements and fit in with your fun and rugged lifestyle. I had a chance to play around a bit with the […]
Last week we got into a discussion about what makes notebooks and netbooks feel cheap. On the other end of the spectrum, there are PCs that look and feel rock solid. Today MobileDemand officially announced its sponsorship of the Red Bull Racing Team. Panasonic announced an update for their Toughbook 19 (which sports a 10″ screen, not 19″). It now features an Intel Core i5-540UM processor with Turbo Boost for speeds up to 2.0GHz and vPro for motherboard-level security. It also tops MIL-STD-810G certification with the ability to withstand a six-foot drop (probably still won’t pass helicopter test).
Panasonic has refreshed their Toughbook Tablet PC line with the C1, which they claim is the world’s lightest 12.1″ convertible Tablet PC at 3.2 pounds, yet it remains tough enough to be called a “Toughbook”. On top of that, it packs an Intel Core i5 2.4GHz processor and optional multi-touch screen that works with gloved […]

We’ve been known to toss MobileDemand devices around casinos, drop Otterbox cases in creeks, and even run over them in cars. But ruggedized devices are often too expensive for the consumer. So, if you think you might be bouncing your […]
