Published

Imangi Studios, the developer of Temple Run, has updated Temple Run for the iPad with support for the third-generation new iPad’s Retina display.

Today’s update brings a number of new features and one of them is a feature that owners of the new iPad have be clamoring for since March when Apple launched its third tablet device.

The update for Temple Run brings Retina support for the new iPad which means that the game, which already looked pretty good, now looks even better, taking full-advantage of the iPad’s high-definition display.

In addition, Imangi Studios has also added some other new features that should please those still addicted to the popular game.

The new version comes with a power-up called PermaWings which players can put on before the start of the game in order to gain a resurrection ability.

In addition, Temple Run now allows players to enable or disable individual power-ups when necessary.

The developer has also loaded up the update with bug fixes and some new achievements to keep players busy. All in all, the update should make the game even better, especially for those toting a new third-generation iPad.

Temple Run has been one of the most popular games on iOS for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and the game quickly took the Google Play Store by storm when it finally launched for Google’s Android platform back in March.

Now that Imangi has gotten Retina support out of the way for the iPad, it’s possible that the next big release will be Temple Run for Windows Phone, something that seemed to be on the horizon but has yet to arrive.
