Like AT&T and Verizon, Sprint is likely to see a host of new devices launch throughout the course of 2013 including the iPhone 5S, Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC M7. However, not all consumers will want to, or can wait for those devices to arrive on shelves. Fortunately, like AT&T and Verizon, Sprint too has a great selection of smartphones that can be bought right now.

In 2012, Sprint launched its next-generation 4G LTE network into the world. And while the network started out extremely small, the carrier has quickly ramped it up, and Sprint now provides 4G LTE data speeds in over 50 markets across the United States. That of course isn’t anywhere close to the LTE footprints of AT&T and Verizon but it’s enough to make it an attractive destination for smartphone shoppers.

The Now Network also remains the only major U.S. carrier that still offers truly unlimited data. Sprint’s chief rivals, AT&T and Verizon, have both shifted away from that model.

Also helping to lure in customers is the fact that Sprint like the other major U.S. carriers, has a fantastic selection of current and upcoming smartphones. 2012 saw the launches of several staples that to this day, remain high quality options for customers looking to get a smartphone on Sprint.

Indeed, Sprint will more than likely be offering an assortment of high-end smartphones in 2013 including a number of the devices that have emerged already. The carrier has also announced support for BlackBerry’s first BlackBerry 10 QWERTY, the BlackBerry Q10. However, the Q10, like the other devices, likely won’t arrive for several months down the road and there are plenty of consumers that aren’t prepared to wait.

Fortunately, those looking for a smartphone on Sprint this month will find that its current lineup has a lot to like. In fact, the devices here are going to be devices that will more than likely hold up for the duration of a new two-year contract.

That said, here are the five best Sprint smartphones for the month of February, 2013.

The iPhone 5 remains one of Sprint's staples, residing on the carrier's high-speed 4G LTE network.

With its spacious 4-inch display, speedy processor, fantastic camera, high quality industrial design, and useful iOS 6 software, the iPhone 5 is one of the best smartphones on not only Sprint, but on any carrier.

And while its price tag, $199.99 for a 16GB model will likely remain unchanged until the iPhone 5S arrives, it certainly will be worth the cash as it will easily ride out the duration of a two-year contract.
