Three New Samsung Smartphones Get WiFi Certification, Coming to MWC?

Three new Samsung smartphones were outed thanks to the WiFi certification group, revealing the device’s model number but not much else as far as hardware specs or information. The models cover a Verizon handset, one that may be destined for T-Mobile USA, and another for Sprint’s network.

The T-Mobile USA model has a model number of SGH-T999, which is speculated to be for the T-Mobile Galaxy S 4G Blaze. As the model number contains a “T,” it is assumed that the phone will be arriving on T-Mobile as per Samsung’s prior naming convention for devices for that carrier in the past. The device is said to be sporting an HD display with a 1280 X 720-pixel resolution, similar to that found on the Galaxy Nexus.

The other two devices, the SGH-I535 and SPH-L710, have not been previously announced. Information is not yet available on either devices.

The SGH-I535 is said to be launching out of the box with Android Ice Cream Sandwich for Verizon Wireless. As Verizon already has the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with ice Cream Sandwich, this may be Samsung’s second Android 4.0 smartphone for Verizon, and on that is likely to come with a TouchWiz user experience overlay on top of Ice Cream Sandwich.

No details are available for the SPH-L710 except that the smartphone is headed to Sprint’s Now Network. Whether this device ends up being the Galaxy Nexus for Sprint or another smartphone is anyone’s guess at this point.

Hopefully, we’ll learn more about all three phones in the coming weeks with MWC just around the corner.
