What Time Will the iPhone 5s Go on Sale?

Buyers in the United States are just hours from being able to purchase the iPhone 5s.

Due to the device’s enhanced security features, powerful processor and a rumored shortage, you will have to be ready and plan ahead if you want to claim one of the devices as your own on launch day.

Here’s what time the device will go on sale in your area.

Users looking to purchase the iPhone 5s on launch from their local their wireless carriers can expect the iPhone 5s to go on sale at those locations at 8 AM. That includes Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.

Apple has also confirmed that users looking to pick up the iPhone 5s will be able to do so beginning at 8 a.m. local time at their locations.

Regardless of whether you’re going to an Apple Store or the retail arm of your wireless carrier, iPhone 5s manufacturing yields seem to be low thanks to the new TouchID fingerprint reader built into the device, so plan now. If you’re are on a quest to have your iPhone 5s this weekend, you’ll need to get up pretty early.

Buyers planning to pick up device from their local Apple Store should look to get in line at roughly 5 am. Users buying from their local wireless carrier store might want to line up around 6:30 am.

Potential iPhone 5 buyers who can wait for their devices, will need to get up even earlier than retail buyers.  Apple’s online store will begin selling the iPhone 5s at 12:01 AM Pacific Standard Time or 3:01 AM Easter Standard Time.

At that time each carrier is also expected to begin taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5s online as well. Users looking to get their hands on their device as soon as possible, might want to attempt to order the device as close to release time as they possibly can. Typically online iPhone releases day buyers online have encountered slow page loading caused by a rush of users trying to order at the same time. Even trying to order as late as 1:00 a.m. could be the difference between being among the first users to own the iPhone 5s and having to wait until October.

The iPhone 5s will cost users $199 for 16GB of storage, $299 for 32GB of storage and $399 for 64GB of storage. Each price is subject to a two-year service agreement. As T-Mobile structures their device sales differently, users on that carrier will only have to put down $99 for the 16GB model, however they’ll need to pay $22.91 on top of their monthly service fees for the next 24 months. Users will need to put down $199 and pay 24 installments of $22.91 plus their monthly bill for an iPhone 5s with 32GB of on-board storage. The 64GB iPhone 5s on T-Mobile will cost users users a $299 down payment plus 24 payments of $22.91 per month.

    Apple or Verizon?
