The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is still a top notch smartphone, worthy of consideration during the month of July. However, there are some smartphones that we think consumers need to consider before committing to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 , a smartphone that is one of the most unique devices on the market today.

At the tail end of last year, Samsung took the stage and announced a brand new Galaxy Note 3 to replace the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, the Galaxy Note model from the year before. The Galaxy Note 3, as most successor do, replaced the Galaxy Note 2 and its feature set with a number of upgrades including a better display, camera, processor, software, and more.

At the time, we considered it to be Samsung’s most powerful smartphone and a device worthy of consideration. We still feel that way. The Galaxy Note 3 is still  one of the more attractive smartphones on the market thanks to its hardware, its software and a price tag that has plummeted since its release. The device is now far cheaper than $299.99.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a smartphone that is worth considering in the month of July but before you settle on it, we think there are five other smartphones you should check out first.

We are constantly bombarded with questions about which phones to buy. In particular, we’re constantly asked about the phones consumers should weigh against the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. There are a number of different devices that we could recommend, the smartphone market is full of solid choices, but we want to narrow things down a bit and take a look at what we consider to be the top five.

These devices represent the devices that we’d recommend to friends and family. And while our list may differ from yours, these are the devices that Gotta Be Mobile editors have selected for recognition this month. We feel like the devices listed here deliver the best, all-around package for this month and this month alone.

That said, here are the top five smartphones to consider before buying the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung Galaxy S5

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is maybe the first smartphone that prospective Galaxy Note 3 buyers need to take a look at before buying this month. While it doesn't come with the Galaxy Note's S Pen, it does come with a number of high-end features that make it an extremely powerful choice option for consumers.

Samsung's brand new Galaxy S comes with all of the bells and whistles you'd expect from a high-end smartphone in 2014. It features one of the best displays ever and one that DisplayMate says bests the iPhone 5s' Retina Display, it comes with a speedy processor, design that is dust and water resistant, a solid camera, great battery life, and an improved software experience. It's also cheap on-contract if you go through Amazon.

The Galaxy S5 presents an all-around package that many shoppers will find suitable. We consider it to be one of the best smartphones on the market and those looking at the Galaxy Note 3 this month should take a close look at it before committing to the Galaxy Note 3.

Our Galaxy S5 versus Galaxy Note 3 buying guide will point you in the right direction though we highly recommend going hands-on with both before buying.

According to current scenario, I would like to recommend Galaxy S5 for all Android lovers like me. The release of Galaxy Note 4 is also around the corner that is rumored to be launched with iPhone 6. Well, I am going off the topic. So the specs that I like the most in Galaxy S5 is touch wiz finger print scanner, water resistant body and power saving mode that protects the battery from draining out soon. However, it is annoying to remove the flap over the charging port in order to charge the device but charging it on wireless charging pad is the best option.
