The Nexus 5 is Google's current Nexus smartphone. For those that are unfamiliar with the term, Google's Nexus branding means that the device runs stock Android without the crazy manufacturer user interface. So, not only does it not come without an S Pen, it comes without Samsung's TouchWiz user interface. So why include it here? Simple.

It comes with powerful hardware including a solid 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, and a good camera. Many people also prefer stock Android to TouchWiz Android so we think it's a device that is worth ruling out.

Google's Nexus 5 starts at $350 unlocked. By comparison, the Galaxy Note 3 unlocked is much more expensive and sits upwards of $600. This $250 price difference is notable because the Nexus 5's hardware is extremely powerful, just like the Galaxy Note 3's.

We consider the Nexus 5 one of the premier Android devices on the planet and it's a device that we think you should check out before going with the Galaxy Note 3. There is a lot to like about it especially the vanilla software. Those that need more information would be wise to check out our Nexus 5 review.
