US Cellular’s 4G LTE Network is Ready, Devices Coming in Q1 2012

Fresh on the heels of news that U.S. Cellular passed on carrying the iPhone 4S comes word that the carrier will be rolling out a 4G LTE network and that devices for said network will be available in the first quarter of 2012.

The carrier announced that the initial batch of cities will be located in Iowa, Wisconsin, Maine, North Carolina, Texas and Oklahoma. Specific cities include Milwaukee, Madison and Racine, Wis.; Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Davenport, Iowa; Portland and Bangor, Maine; and Greenville, N.C.

US Cellular

U.S. Cellular’s network will join the current 4G LTE networks that AT&T and Verizon currently have in place.

Sprint will be joining the party at some point in mid-2012.
