Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Pre-Order Hints at Faster Release

Published

on

Verizon is doing something a bit different with its Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launch as the carrier has uncharacteristically been forthcoming with information about the upcoming device. In fact, the carrier, which typically has been short with information, has confirmed its Galaxy Note 3 pre-order which will begin tomorrow at 9AM EST.

Yesterday, Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 3, its brand new phablet that will be coming to the United States to replace the Galaxy Note 2 as the company’s flagship Galaxy Note. Yesterday, we saw U.S. carriers confirm the Galaxy Note 3 for arrival, a list that includes AT&T, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, T-Mobile and Verizon.

In the past, we’ve seen Verizon be last to big name smartphones not called iPhone and we’ve seen it be mum about pertinent details. The carrier has seemingly reversed its stance with the Galaxy Note 3 as the company yesterday revealed a splash page for the device almost immediately after the launch event. The company also confirmed that pre-orders would be coming soon.

Verizon has since updated the page and the carrier will be taking pre-orders for the device starting tomorrow, September 6th, at 9AM EST. That means that those on PST will need to be up at 6AM in order to order right when it goes on sale. The carrier says that buyers will be able to pre-order it with the Galaxy Gear, a companion device that Samsung announced alongside the Galaxy Note 3 at yesterday’s event.

The carrier has not revealed exactly when the device will be coming to shelves but this does point to a quicker release than usual as the company is usually way behind in offering a pre-order or any information on its non-iPhone devices.

Expect an improved camera with supporting software.

Verizon was extremely late to the Galaxy Note 2.

While nothing is confirmed, it appears that the company could very well get the Galaxy Note 3 out in October with the other U.S. carriers. Last year’s Galaxy Note 2 was released a month after the others and this year’s Galaxy S4 did the same. The HTC One on the other hand hit Verizon several months after it hit AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

Verizon’s Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be similar to the device found on other carriers  as it will likely feature a larger and better display, a slimmer and lighter faux leather design, a 13MP camera, 4G LTE data, new S Pen features, enhanced multitasking and a bunch of accessories to help usher in its era as the company’s flagship Galaxy Note.

The device is set to arrive in some regions on September 25th while Samsung explicitly said that it would hit the U.S. and Japan at some point in October.
