Verizon Galaxy S3 Multi-Window View Update Ready to Roll Out

Published

It appears that Verizon is poised to roll out a massive update to the Samsung Galaxy S3, an update that will bring the long-awaited Multi-Window View function to the device along with a host of other big time features.

Earlier this year, Verizon rolled out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for its Samsung Galaxy S3. However, unlike the Android 4.1.2 updates for many Galaxy S3 devices around the world, the Verizon Galaxy S3’s update was missing some key features from Samsung’s Premium Suite. The absence left many owners wondering whether they’d get new features or not down the road.

Fortunately, Verizon appears to have decided to offer at least some of the Premium Suite to its Galaxy S3 owners as an update, checking in at a solid 130MB, has been approved and is set to roll out with some big time features including the long-awaited Multi-Window View feature.

The update has made itself known on Verizon’s website, something that typically happens shortly before a release, so while it’s not rolling out right now, it should be rolling out in the very near future, possibly before the end of the day or week.

When it does finally roll out, Galaxy S3 owners are going to be treated to a host of new features including Multi-Window View which allows users to split up the display into halves, running two different apps at once. It’s a fantastic feature for those that love to multitask.

Other highlights include a new feature for the camera called Best Shot, improved lock screen functionality, and a bunch of bug fixes and enhancements that should make the device even better than it was.

Of course, there is a possibility that the software could bring some unforeseen bugs along with it so owners should be cautious before taking the plunge and installing the software on their device.

This will more than likely not be the last big update to the Samsung Galaxy S3 on Verizon as the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update is likely next in line for a roll out. Just when it might arrive though is a complete and utter mystery.

Just got the update on my S3 (Verizon.) The multi-window view is nice but I am glad they added support so that when I connect via USB, the phone shows up as a device I can transfer files to without any third party app. Finally.
