Verizon Galaxy S4 32GB Confirmed

Published

on

Gotta Be Mobile has learned that Verizon has a Samsung Galaxy S4 32GB in the works and is currently trying to settle on a release date with Samsung.

Earlier this month, Verizon released the Samsung Galaxy S4 after a bit of a wait though it only released the 16GB model. Prior to the device’s arrival, the carrier had told us that it had no plans to offer a 32GB Galaxy S4 in the future which seemed to put speculation to rest. However, it appears that the carrier has had a change of heart as a Verizon executive has seemingly confirmed that a 32GB model is in the works for the future.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Micro SD card is worthless for apps, purchased movies and most music.

The 32GB Galaxy S4 is heading to Verizon.

In an email response that was directed to us by a reader, Verizon’s Chief Marketing Officer Tami Erwin responded to an inquiry about a 32GB Galaxy S4 with a straightforward answer, considering the carrier’s original stance on the 32GB Galaxy S4.

In the reply, Erwin states:

Thanks for your e-mail and the question regarding the S4 w/32GB of built in storage.  Verizon plans to offer this option and is currently working w/Samsung to confirm the date in which this model will be available on-line.

Verizon has confirmed that the response in the email is authentic and real which paves the way for a 32GB Verizon Galaxy S4 launch at some point in the future.

AT&T is the only carrier that offers a 32GB Galaxy S4 and released it several weeks after it launched the 16GB Galaxy S4. Verizon could potentially do the same with its own 32GB model.

It’s unclear as to why Verizon changed its mind though it could potentially be because of the backlash that the carrier, and other carriers received after the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S4. As it stands, the device comes with around 45% of the internal storage space used up. And despite microSD card support, users aren’t able to store every file type on the microSD card.

It’s unclear if Verizon’s change of heart will prompt carriers like Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular to launch 32GB Galaxy S4 models of their own though as we’ve reported, all three have left open the possibility by declining to rule larger storage options out.

This is absolute rubish. I sent an e-mail to Tami…and got a phone call back from the executive office the very next day. She never sent this email and they have no news about a 32gb version. They were very nice on the phone and very proffessional.

It looks like customers are requesting the 32 GB phone and Verizon better get them to avoid losing them to ATT.
Hopefully they offer it at $250 like ATT, but Verizon is very greedy and I think will cost $350.

Glad to hear the 32 GB model is on the horizon. I had ruled out the 16 GB due to the problem mentioned. But the 32 GB should do fine.

Now we need to whine about the 64GB version, that should help solidify 32GB’s as the bare minimum for all future devices.

It will come out after the 30 day returned period so people who got the 16gb are stuck without a way out

this pisses me off, they said they wouldn’t release a 32 gb model. I have been suffering for the past 6 months with a 3 year old Droid that won’t hold a charge longer than 1 hour. I ordered The Verizon Galaxy S4 16GB model, which arrives tomorrow and I see this news about the 32GB… If they had announced it off the bat, I would bought it right away.

    Phuck you Verizon!

You could just not accept the package or return it.

I’d return it immediately. It would also help to get the message across that everyone wants the 32GB version!

So difficult; Samsung will build them and Verizon will sell them. In the same stores where the 16 Gig phones are sold. Shipped-in on the same trucks that carry the 16 Gig phones. Occupying nearly the same space on the shelves as the 16 Gig phones. A titanic achievement.

I have been waiting for Samsung Glaxy I9500 32gb or 64gb for a long time, if Samsung do not sell the one I want I would rather buy something else.

Was this really confirmed? Why would the VP of sales contact just one lowly customer? and only one person out of all the people who have questioned Verizon about this got a response??
Who confirmed this? Did you email Tami?
    I’m calling fake.

Adam, can you email someone at Sprint and ask them the same thing? Sprint has been ridiculous with their TOTAL AND COMPLETE NON-COMMUNICATION regarding the 32GB S4.

This is so ridiculous. Still no word from Verizon. Gotta Be Mobile is still the only site “confirming” the 32 GB S4. There are all a few other sites reporting the 32GB S4, but every single one of them is just citing Gotta Be Mobile as the source! This makes no sense. Why would the VP of marketing email one single customer, but at the same rate, no one else from Verizon has any information. I wish this guy Adam Mills would be a bit more descriptive in how this email was “verified”.

BIG respect for Samsung now! Due to so many compaints about the actual user accessible internal storage of the 16 GB version of the Galaxy S4, Samsung is rolling out a software update to override Google’s block on Android’s ability to move apps to SD storage on Galaxy S4! That’s good news to me because I went ahead and bought the S4 that’s on Verizon.

But with the update it will allow you to move apps but the apps data will stay on the internal memory. Is it really the solution or a smoke screen?

Samsung just announced the Galaxy S4 LTE-Advanced will be released in 2 months or so on At&t and Verizon now this makes sense we will most lilkely see a 32gig S4 on Verizon with the NEW “LTE-Advanced” on it…

The current s4 which uses qualcom’s 1.9 ghz 600 processor ALREADY is LTE-Advance compatible. The only difference between the two models is that the upcoming s4 will have the 2.3 ghz 800 chip. Qualcom stated that both versions of the processor supports it. If you look through the full specs of the current s4 it shows support for AWS which is another name for LTE-A, its also called catagory-4 4G. Verizon also confirm ed this back before the newer phone was even known about, when it released it’s list of the seven devices that would run on the new LTE-A…Samsung is just now mentioning it to push extra sales of the 2.3 ghz model.
