First Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 Deal Arrives

Published

on

While the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 is still a little under a month away from arriving on shelves, we already have its first deal as third-party retailer Wirefly is taking pre-orders for the Verizon Galaxy S4 with a price tag that is below both the rebate price and the standard price of Verizon’s upcoming flagship.

Earlier today, third-party retailer RadioShack started taking orders for the Samsung Galaxy S4 on Verizon, the last big name Samsung Galaxy S4 for the United States and one that is slated to hit shelves on May 30th. Like Verizon and Best Buy, RadioShack is taking pre-orders for $250 on-contract, a steeper price than some of Verizon’s competitors.

And while Verizon is offering a mail-in rebate for $50, it’s still a mail-in rebate and consumers still have to pay the $250 up front. Those not looking to pay this much for the Verizon Galaxy S4 needn’t look further than Wirefly, another third-party retailer that arrived on the scene today with a Galaxy S4 deal of its own.

The retailer has decided to undercut not only other retailers but Verizon as well by offering the Galaxy S4 on pre-order for a mere $179.99 on-contract. That’s not exactly the biggest price drop that consumers have ever seen but it’s $20 less than the rebated price and a whole $70 less than the standard on-contract price for the Galaxy S4.

Wirefly is offering that deal on both the white and black models of the Verizon Galaxy S4. Like the other retailers, Wirefly plans to have this phone available later on this month and the offer applies to those signing up for new contracts with Verizon or those upgrading an account.

This means that this is the first deal on the Verizon Galaxy S4 and it comes just a few weeks ahead of its arrival. After it arrives, we should see the price start to slowly drop, much like it already has with the models on AT&T and Sprint through retailers like Walmart and Amazon.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will hit Verizon with a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, 13MP camera, Android 4.2 and most likely, a locked up bootloader.

I’ve been waiting for Costco to start pre-orders for the S4 on Verizon… They are lagging behind everyone else. The sales people at Costco know nothing about the pre-orders that started last week.

Thank you, I canceled my preorder with Verizon directly for two S4’s and resubmit with Wirefly. This post saved me $173, mostly in taxes, since Verizon charges sales tax on the full amount of the phone. Thanks!

Target’s website is actually just a reskin of the Wirefly website! I wonder what warranty/fulfillment differences there will be with Target.
