The Verizon Moto X 2014 is getting its first huge price cut for what we can only assume is a limited time.

Earlier today Motorola began offering the Verizon Moto X 2014 for $49.99 with a two-year contract. That’s half of what the Verizon Moto X 2014 debuted at. On other networks and Verizon regularly the Moto X 2014 costs $99 with a two-year contract.

The Moto X 2014 features a spacious 5.2-inch high-definition AMOLED display. The front-facing speaker on the Moto X 2014 is capable of filling a room with pretty clear sound. Inside is a quad-core SnapDragon 801 processor that allows the Moto X to run Android’s most demanding apps and games. On the Moto X 2014’s rear is a 13 megapixel camera with ring flash and automatic HDR.

The Pure Edition Moto X 2014 doesn’t include any carrier customizations and isn’t locked to a single carrier. Users of this version get updates the moment Motorola decides to deploy them. This version of the device costs $499, but users can break up the cost into monthly payments through financing.
