Published

on

Verizon Wireless is readying the over the air software update for the Motorola Droid X2 that will deliver the Android 2.3 Gingerbready operating system to the 3G smartphone. While the Droid X2 was launched with Android 2.2 Froyo with a newer and sleeker version of the MOTO BLUR user interface pre-loaded, the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update will continue to refine the MOTO BLUR experience. The BLUR-enabled Gingerbread build will match the Droid X2’s interface aesthetics to the recently launched Motorola Droid 3 with the sliding keyboard.

The update may not be available on every phone right away and may take a while to reach your device. Once it does reach your device, you’ll get a notification on your smartphone to download and install the software patch.
