Verizon’s Summer and Fall 2012 Roadmap Leaked

Published

on

A new Verizon leak hints at some of the phones we can expect from the carrier in the summer and fall of 2012, including the Galaxy S III, a new Galaxy Note competitor, and the iPhone 5.

According to sources talking to BGR we can expect to see a lot more Android on Verizon in the next few months. Leading the group is the Samsung Galaxy S III. Verizon passed on the S II last year, instead focusing on the Galaxy Nexus, but this year is different. The Galaxy S III will likely land on Verizon sometime this summer.

The Galaxy Note competitor mentioned will come from HTC. According to the anonymous source the phone will feature a 5-inch 1080p non-PenTile display, a quad-core Krait CPU, HTC Sense 5, and a Scribe pen like the HTC Flyer. We don’t know anything else about the device so far, but if it is true it might explain why we haven’t heard of a One X variant coming to Verizon.

The leak also says we’ll see “multiple” Motorola RAZR models on Verizon over the next few months. At least one of those models will include a larger, clearer display and might be the RAZR HD we’ve heard about.

Finally, the source points to a fall release of the iPhone 5, but didn’t go into any detail on the device. From the rumors we’ve seen so far, 4G LTE compatibility seems certain. There’s also reports of a larger 4-inch display with a unibody design. For everything we think we know about the next iPhone check out our iPhone 5 rumor roundup.

Despite a commitment to Windows Phone from Verizon CFO Fran Shammo last week, the roadmap did not detail any posible Windows Phone devices.

This is only a partial list, Verizon will surely have more smartphones over the next few months. This limited lineup is just a collection of some high-end phones we can expect from Verizon in the next few months.

Why the hell would verizon allow the Galaxy Note to be SMALLER than the one already released? Sure the specs are great, but Jesus! Yes…we will get it, but we will make it 5 inches instead of the already released 5.3 inches. Dumb Dumb Dumb!

It isn’t going to be a Galaxy Note. The article says a Galaxy Note competitor, made by HTC will be released.

I don’t want a second-best One X.  I want a Note.  Come on Verizon. Give us the best

Want to Note or Im gone Verizon after 10+ years. If you can’t see all the thousands of people who have demanded this phone on your forum via petition ( please go sign it if you havent already), on youtube and all over the web you are blind, confirm you don’t care about what your customers want, and are making a serious mistake that will cost you.

I’m absolutely leaving Verizon after having had two 2-year contracts with them, because they aren’t getting the Galaxy Note. My current contract is up on June 1, and I’m gone on that day. Hello, AT&T !!!  Super excited about getting a gorgeous white Note in June.

Jason has no clue how things work. Cell companies pay large amounts of money to have exclusive deals with the phone manufacturers, At&t paid for the exclusive deal so that it would be the only carrier with the iphone for X amount of time, verizon felt that the money coulda been spent better somewhere else, so thats what they did. Same goes for the galaxy note, i think i read in an article that at&t has exclusive rights to it for 90 days, then other providers can sell it.

Thank you, Paul… I was almost bleeding from my tear ducts after reading Jason’s ignorant rant. I can’t believe how some people have absolutely no common sense! Believe me, I want the Note as much as anyone – but criticizing the company on something that you don’t understand is not the way to get your point across.

With that said, I agree with a lot of the comments that say we do not want the best Note competitor – we want THE NOTE! I’ve played with a Note. I’ve read reviews of the Note. I’ve seen people grow to like it more and more the longer they own it. I don’t want a brand new device that is similar to the Note… I want the Note. Understand, Verizon? How could we be any more clearer?
