If only those Win7 drivers worked.. That would be nice!

I am very dissapointed with this release. Wireless drivers simply didn’t work. I had to go back for an early XP driver which did work just fine.

Touch calibration crashes the machine (BSOD), and default calibration is so far out as to be useless. 3G drivers aren’t availalbe anywhere on the Viliv site.

This is the second time I’ve wasted my time trying to run Win 7 on the S5. Back to XP again till they sort it out…

Installing windows 7 on these devices is not for the faint hearted. I spent hours on it, and I think I had more success with it before they relesed the win 7 drivers! I had everything working bar the 3G (which I now have working).

All in all, a very different experience to installing on my J3400… that pretty much all worked out of the box! Is this common on all atom products? I am wary of experimenting with the Gigabyte M1028 now…

I’ve got my S5 working with Windows 7 and I’m ridiculously happy. Feel free to post your problems here and I’ll go through them one by one.
    A FEW TIPS
    – The System Driver needs to be manually copied to the Windows/System32/Drivers folder. The install.bat does not work because of permissions issues.
    – Do not install Viliv Manager 1.1.7 (or whatever the latest one they have is). It destroys touch screen calibration. Use Viliv Manager 1.1.2
    – Many of the drivers can only be installed through the Device Manager
    – The touch screen driver requires you to tell Windows that “You have the driver on a disk” and that you don’t wan’t to use it’s recommended driver

All in all, this is a great example of how not to release drivers. This was not an easy installation at all. It is worth it though… running full aero features on Viliv S5 is incredible. Also, go to https://www.pocketables.net ‘s Viliv S5 forum to find out how to unleash the goodness of Windows 7 handwriting recognition.

I forgot to mention the system file issue… Will try Viliv manager 1.1.2. Is it on the website?

Would you mind posting a direct link to pocketables info?

      Hi
The link to Viliv Mannager v1.1.2.exe don´t exist any more. Do you have a copy of this .exe?
      Thank you

Thank you Sandeep, that fixed the issue. Callibration is all right now and I noticed that Viliv have finally published the 3G drivers and software too!

Everything is working, however a lot of hair pulling could have been saved if Viliv were onto this…
