Published

on

In no way am I trying to push some sort of Christmas creep here, but this is the time of year that geeks everywhere start scheming and plotting to make sure the gadgets they want end up under the Christmas tree on December 25. Don’t deny it, you know I’m talking to you.

Gadget sites see search results for reviews and commentary start to spike as folks do research and comparison shopping, and then send links to family members.

This has certainly been a crazy year when it comes to gadgets and devices. The iPad continues to dominate as does talk of other Tablet/Slates, along with the news about phones. That doesn’t look like it is going to subside any time soon. Companies making laptops and netbooks are still making them, but the excitement and juice certainly seems to be on other fronts. But what gadgets are dancing around in your dreams?

Yes, I’m curious. What are GBM readers thinking about for their gadget Christmas Wish Lists? Is it a Tablet/Slate? A new phone? A new laptop? Netbook? Desktop? Accessories? Whatever it is, let us know in the comments. I’m not only curious as to what you are interested in, but to see if there are any trends here among our readers. So, sound off in the comments.

Heck, it might even become the place to point to when you’re spreading your Christmas list around.

Unless something dies I will be sitting tight.
I had been hoping to be shopping for a tablet maybe.
But the market looks like that would be jumping in early at this point as the new intel chips and hopefully some of the clever screen solutions are not going to be in yet.
Looks like the smart money will be to push of into next year and see what the competition actually brings and how ipad gen 2 answers.
That will probably be around next year too, I am thinking.

I’m getting an iPod Touch Gen 4. I always liked the form of it; but I’ve been waiting for it to get a camera. So I’m getting my first iPod since receiving the disappointing Classic iPod a family member bought for me many years ago.

My brother is looking to get a tablet PC. Maybe the HP tm2t for his second stint in college after earning his Associates.

I am looking to waiting really. Lots of first gen stuff it seems right now. My phone is only a year old, my mp3 player is about 5 but still working well. I would like to see some players that will play FLAC format & I see some are starting to come out. I will see how they are & maybe wait for next gen. Lots of tablet stuff coming, so I want to see how it shakes out. Got the newest Kindle so good there. My PSP is fine. Laptop is fine. In wait mode for now.

I need a replacement laptop (looking at a 17″ Samsung or Toshiba). My one laptop died and the other is limping on its last leg. And if the Notion Ink Adam winds up being All That, Santa is gonna bring one my way. :-)

2 things, really. Laptop first up, though I don’t think Santa will think I’ve been THAT good this year ;) The other that I may get away with if i behave between now and Christmas is a new mobile phone. Had originally thought iphone, but then figured I’d be responsible for all monthly payments for the next 2 yrs, so reconsidered and decided the Samsung r355c wasn’t too shabby and will only cost me $50/month to maintain an unlimited plan with Net10. And I could really do with unlimited texting in my life…in fact if the annoyance factor would do the trick, maybe I could even text Santa daily for my laptop!!
