White Nexus 4 No Longer Available on Google Play Store

Published

on

Several weeks ago, Google put the limited edition white Nexus 4 on sale on the Google Play Store. Now, the both the 8GB and 16GB versions of the white Nexus 4 are completely sold out and there is a good chance that neither will make a return to the Play Store.

While Google didn’t deliver the white Nexus 4 at Google I/O 2013, it did announce it for arrival a few weeks later and up until a few days ago, both versions of the limited edition white Nexus 4 were available alongside their 8GB and 16GB black Nexus 4 counterparts. However, recently, the 8GB white Nexus 4 sold out at the Google Play Store with Google listing it as no longer available for sale.

Today, the 16GB white Nexus 4 has joined it as the company now lists the 16GB white Nexus 4 with the same language. This of course is not surprising as the white Nexus 4 was meant to be a limited time offer. However, it was impossible to predict just how long the device was going to be available for with Google remaining mum on stock.

It’s unclear if this is the end of the road for the white Nexus 4 though given its “limited” tag, we expect the white Nexus 4 to remain shelved. It’s entirely possible that Google could resurrect it, but at this point, that seems unlikely. When asked about a revival, Google declined to comment.

The white Nexus 4 of course is the exact same phone as the black Nexus 4. It features a 4.7-inch display, quad-core processor, 8MP camera, plastic and glass design, cheap price tag and all the perks of a Nexus device. Unlike the black model though, its hue is white.

While the Nexus 4 in white is no longer available, the black Nexus 4 is available and it should remain that way until the company decides to announce a brand new Nexus smartphone. Rumors suggest that that could take place later this year with a larger Nexus 5 already rumored as a possible successor to the popular Nexus 4.

what a non-story – its hardly as if the Nexus 4 itself has been withdrawn, as your misleading headline suggests.
