J3400_win7.pngNow that Windows 7 has been officially released, you can order Motion Computing tablets with the new OS pre-installed. If you’re planning on upgrading your Motion Computing tablet to Windows 7 you should visit this page for specific instructions on how to do so. There’s a place holder for Motion’s Windows 7 drivers, which should be available shortly.

Rob Bushway certainly enjoyed his experience with a J3400 with Windows 7 installed and was quoted in the Motion Computing press release about Windows 7 support.

Ok, nothing great, because any Vista supporting tablet supports Win 7.
However, something great would have been an announcement by Motion with an optional touchscreen.

Sadly every available touchscreen worsens the display at the moment. I really would like to have one, but not as long as the touchscreen adds another layer in front of the display.

It’s time to try to place a capacitive touchscreen behind the display, use an optical solution which uses the already installed protection glass as optical medium or something else which does not decrease the display quality which is one of the most important, if not the most important, component in a tablet PC.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if Motion offered a nice LCD / Wacom multitouch digitizer upgrade program for the LE series and newer series of slates? They’d have me in for a $500 or $600 sale.. Oh, I’d have to keep the sxga too.. :-)
