Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Update Coming by September?

Published

It appears that Microsoft has slipped up again in regards to its upcoming Windows Phone Mango update as a Microsoft employee has tweeted out some interesting information regarding its possible release date on the company’s official Microsoft Imagine Cup Twitter account.

Windows Phone Mango

The tweet in question, which was first reported by MobilityDigest, was posted today and states the following:

#ImagineCup finalists ALL receive Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Release!! Each student will get the phone by September!

So either this person has no idea what they’re talking about or they just confirmed a possible release window for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update. And we’d have to think that the finalists won’t be getting developer phones so it’s fairly safe to imagine that Windows Phone Mango will be arriving on phones in early September or possibly as early as August.

This little slip up comes a day after Microsoft was caught showing off not one, not two, not three but four unannounced Windows Phone Mango devices made by Samsung, Acer, ZTE, and Fujitsu with Samsung’s device being the most intriguing as it very closely resembled the popular Samsung Galaxy S II.
