Windows Phone Proves Too Popular for AT&T

Published

on

It seems that our own Chris Leckness isn’t the only person that has an HTC Titan. According to its website, AT&T has sold out of the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango device with the massive display. The device is showing up as temporarily out of stock and Ma Bell hasn’t clued anyone in on when it expects to have the device back up for sale. Great to see Windows Phone doing well, sad to see that AT&T wasn’t prepared for its popularity.

Still, there are places to find the HTC Titan.

In fact, Best Buy currently has the device available for free for both upgraders and those who want to sign up for a new two year contract. Not a bad deal if you’re looking to get on board the Mango train for cheap.

You’ll have to act today though as that deal is for Cyber Monday.

WPCentral is also hearing that AT&T’s other new Windows Phone, the Samsung Focus S, is either currently or close to hitting back order. It’s currently available to purchase on AT&T’s website but it appears people have begun receiving emails from AT&T saying that the device is currently not available.

Hopefully AT&T gets stock of both back soon.

My Titan isn’t the AT&T variety, but yep. I think Microsoft’s recent advertising push and awareness through all the parties they’ve thrown recently has helped put Windows Phone into more hands lately. It’s a very sexy looking OS. Unfortunately, the app support is still way behind the competition.

App store support is growing faster than any other platform at the same point in the life span (when you adjust for all the trial apps essentially being 2 in Apple’s Full/Lite system). That’s one thing I’m really not too concerned about.

Being an Android and iPhone fan, this was a surprise for me  from Microsoft. Windows Phone 7 looks really cool and stylish. Bought my Focus , I think iPhones and Androids will have difficult time ahead selling once people come to use this platform. But any way I hopeful that iPhone and Android will come with something cool to compete. Anyway Consumers benefit !
