5 Xbox One & PS4 Games We Need in 2014: GTA 5, BioShock & More
Gamer’s can’t wait to play GTA 5 for Xbox One and PS4, and others yearn for BioShock Infinite on the PS4 but there’s nothing concrete yet. Sony is stepping up and bringing an incredibly popular game to the PS4, but there are many more PS3 and Xbox 360 games that need an upgrade to the new generation of consoles, even if gamers need to buy them again.
Microsoft’s Xbox One and Sony’s PS4 living room consoles are in a league of their own. They’re really the first two completely new consoles to arrive after the proliferation of cheap high-speed internet access and apps stores that can instantly let users add to their device’s capabilities. Of course, them being gaming consoles, their updated internals make them great for anyone in search of an amazing looking game.
It’s that last bit that’s becoming more interesting. Gone are the days when companies simply made games, released them to users and moved on to a different game. Now developers try to create properties that they can continually make money from. It’s easy to see why, making blockbuster games is expensive. Enter the video game HD remake phenomenon that’s currently sweeping both consoles. Game developers have realized that they can make a high-definition version of the same game they’ve released before and target a whole new audience who didn’t get to play it the first time.
Sony’s recent announcement that they’d introduce a new version of The Last of Us complete with downloadable content for the PS4 got us at GottaBeMobile thinking about what other games should be remade and updated for the new generation of consoles.

Naturally, the first game that should be updated for the Xbox One and PS4 is Grand Theft Auto 5, and it's not hard to see why. Pulling off crimes in an open world has never been more fun than it was in GTA 5. Developer Rockstar mixed in the game’s traditional sandbox elements with a great story, that even people who don’t typically play Rockstar titles for their story wanted to finish. Even at its release there were signs that the game should have made it to next-generation consoles as well as the Xbox 360 and PS3. For starters, the game would slow down and drop frames in surprising places, clearly indicating that our Xbox 360 was having trouble keeping up. For example, the game’s closing credits dragged across the screen and needed more power than the Xbox 360 could muster. The game’s online multiplayer also made it a great contender to come to newer consoles. Dubbed Grand Theft Auto Online, the persistent multiplayer lets gamers team up to steal or battle each other for in-game cash to buy cars, outfits, apartments, and bigger weapons. Rockstar will have to deliver a version for newer consoles if it hopes to keep players talking about Grand Theft Auto Online for years to come. | ||||||

Couldn’t agree more with 4 of the games on this list (never played L. A. Noire so I can’t comment one way or the other). The other big one I think though that’s missing is Skyrim. With all these games (except GTA V) there are already PC versions with hi-resolution textures and most have great sound resources already they just need an engine port, which could even be done by a good 3rd party development house (esp. for Bioshock Infinite this would be a must). Many of these are also good DLC/In-App Purchase “frameworks” so developers would stand to make a good deal from the IAPs in addition to whatever they could sell the remade version for.

Infinite had a “punk-gothic” storyline and art style? I must have played a different version of the game. lol

Personally, I’d rather have the first two games remade for the next gen consoles. Bioshock Infinite just wasn’t up to par with the first two story-wise. It felt rushed unlike the first Bioshock that I felt told the story flawlessly.
