Published

on

The LG V30 is a big and sleek smartphone with lots of neat new features. While most will love the large 6-inch Full Vision display or dual cameras, that isn’t all the V30 has to offer. Below we’ll share 10 neat things the LG V30 can do in an effort to help owners enjoy their phone to the fullest.

In the past, we’ve called V-series phones from LG the “do it all phone” because they’re so jam-packed with features. That’s especially true with the new V30, only this time most of them are extremely useful rather than little gimmicks.

Once yours arrives in September or October you’ll want to take advantage of every new feature. Some are easy to find and well-known to LG users. That said, a slew of other features are brand new that you don’t want to miss.

The LG V30 is IP68 dust and water-resistant

During the announcement, LG highlighted a few neat features on stage or in videos. Including the new and improved dual cameras on the back, water-resistance, or the stunning 6-inch edge-to-edge display. However, they didn’t have time to show off everything else the capable new V30 has to offer.

Everyone already knows about some of the headline features on the LG V30. The fingerprint scanner is on the back, the secondary rear camera has a neat wide-angle lens, and the secondary screen from the V20 is gone. That’s all nice, but here we’re focusing on the hidden features you’ll actually enjoy.

Some of these include making professional videos with smooth zoom effects we’ve never had on a phone. Or enjoying Hi-Fi sound with a Quad DAC. Not to mention charging your phone without wires and streaming audio to multiple devices at the same time.

Below we’ve detailed a few of many exciting features you’ll want to take advantage of. In an effort to help owners understand everything the V30 has to offer, here are 10 things you can do with your new phone.

Floating Secondary Display

Floating Secondary Display

The popular LG V10 and V20 both had two screens on the front of the phone. This secondary screen was useful for a number of reasons. Most notably for quick access to popular apps or to instantly see notifications.

However, the new LG V30 has one big 6-inch OLED display, and there's no longer a second screen. While this isn't a big deal for some, fans of the originals might be upset with the change.

Don't worry though, because most of what you loved about the second screen is still included. LG has a new "floating bar" that slides out from the edge of the screen. This is the floating second screen. You can access your favorite apps, settings, or customize what shows up so it works just how you'd like. Additionally, owners can disable this completely and just enjoy the big screen.
