Fingerprint Scanner Gestures

Google doesn't give us tons of customization like some manufacturers (Huawei) but they did add some neat gestures to stock Android. 

One that most don't know about is Fingerprint Scanner Gestures. Did you know you can swipe down on the fingerprint scanner to see your notification bar, and all incoming notifications? You can even swipe twice to pull it down twice and access the quick setting shortcut tiles or change the brightness. 

Basically, the fingerprint scanner isn't just for unlocking your phone. Pull the notification bar down or flip it away without touching the screen, all by sliding your finger over the fingerprint scanner. Just head to settings > gestures > and mess with the options available.
