10 Things to Do Before Installing the Galaxy Note 8 Oreo Update
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Oreo roll out has begun and there are a few steps you’ll want to take before installing the software on your phone.
Samsung’s pushing the Android 8.0 Oreo update and its Experience 9.0 UI out to owners of the unlocked model in Europe and Galaxy Note 8 models in North America. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon have all released the Galaxy Note 8 Android Oreo update.
The Galaxy Note 8 Android Oreo release is currently limited, but you can expect the update to expand to other regions around the world in the weeks ahead.
As expected, the Galaxy Note 8 Oreo update is a big one. You can expect a significant download size (1.5GB) and a long list of features including Autofill, Background Limits, Color Lens, and significant changes to the stock Samsung Keyboard. You can also expect bug fixes, tweaks, and additional enhancements.
The Galaxy Note 8’s Oreo update didn’t go through a public beta, but Samsung’s spent months testing it behind the scenes. That said, the Oreo update is causing problems for Galaxy Note 8 users.

Data loss problems are rare, but there's always a chance something gets lost in the shuffle when you transition to a new operating system. To be safe, make sure you backup all of your important data before you make the move to Android Oreo. The quickest way to backup your Galaxy Note 8's data is via Samsung's Smart Switch application. Smart Switch will backup SMS messages, home screen settings, Settings, call logs, apps, photos and videos, and any documents you store on your phone. It's a fairly painless process, but it could take awhile if you're using up a lot of internal storage. You can also use the company's Samsung Cloud solution to backup your Galaxy Note 8's data. You only get a limited amount of free storage, but it might be enough if you don't keep a ton of stuff saved on your internal storage. You can find Samsung Cloud in your Galaxy Note 8's Settings > Cloud and Accounts. If you don't have a Samsung account you'll need to create one in order to use it. 3/10 – hard drive? Who wrote this? There is no such thing as a phone with a hard drive. You are referring to the phone’s internal storage, as opposed to the external storage (microSD card). But there’s no need to confuse your readers by referring to internal storage as a “hard drive”.
Yes, back up any data not stored on the microSD card. Yes, have all your login credentials ready (this is where a password manager like LastPass can be a real lifesaver). And yes, charge your phone. In fact, the upgrade will download, but will not install unless the phone has at least 80% battery charge. And yes, enjoy the new features!

I had a problem with Wifi after update my Note 8. I solved it by resetting connectivity settings, cleaned the Play Store cache and reboot.
