13 Things to Know About Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass

Published

on

The first Battlefield 1 DLC arrived in March but there are some new things owners, and prospective buyers, need to know about the Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass DLC for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.

DICE’s They Shall Not Pass DLC introduces a new army, new Operations, new maps, new weapons, new vehicles, an awesome easter egg, and a whole lot more to the popular World War I sim.

As we push into the summer, DICE has confirmed several new They Shall Not Pass details including two new night maps that pit the French Army against the Germans. The new maps are coming to Premium Pass holders and those who picked up the DLC as a standalone piece of content.

Our guide to They Shall Not Pass also covers the expansion’s download size (it’s absolutely gigantic for all three platforms) and some of the problems and balance issues still plaguing the French DLC on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.

We’ll continue to update this roundup with new information so check back for regular updates as we push into the month of June and closer to the second Battlefield 1 expansion pack, a Russian DLC dubbed In the Name of the Tsar.

DICE typically releases a base game update alongside its DLC expansion packs. With They Shall Not Pass (and we assume with the next three DLC's), it did things a bit different.

They Shall Not Pass was bundled into DICE's March Battlefield 1 update. The developer did this to "allow non-Premium members access to the content via Spectator mode." This gives non-Premium members a chance to check out the maps and content before buying the DLC.

Of course, this also means that everyone is required to download a massive game file in order to continue playing Battlefield 1.

If you haven't fired up Battlefield 1 in awhile, here's what you can expect from the They Shall Not Pass update for your platform:

PS4: 7.3GB

Xbox One: 8.35GB

PC: 5.88GB

In the months since They Shall Not Pass' release, DICE has released a Spring update, a May update, and a June update with a new map called Nivelle Nights. You'll need to download those as well.

If you're running out of space on your console now would be a good time to do some cleanup. And if you use a wireless connection, you might want to plug your ethernet cord in to see if that helps speed up your download.
