PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, popularly known as PUBG, is one of the hottest Xbox games of 2017. There are some great reasons to buy it right now during the holidays, but there are also some great reasons to take a rain check and wait a few more days or maybe even a few more weeks.

PUBG’s finally made the transition from Windows PC to console and the game is now available for Microsoft’s Xbox One, Xbox One S, and the new Xbox One X.

The game’s already sold over three million copies and those numbers should only go up as consumers buy the game during and after the holiday season.

For those unfamiliar, PUBG is an online multiplayer battle royale that calls on 100 players to parachute onto an island and scavenge for supplies while killing off the remaining players. As time goes on, the map shrinks until you’re face-to-face with your adversaries.

It makes for some tense moments and it provides incredible amounts of fun for casual and hardcore gamers alike. There’s a reason the game’s sold over 20 million copies on the Windows PC.

While it might be tempting to buy PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for Xbox right now now or in the near future, some of you are better off taking a rain check.

If you’re struggling with the decision to buy a copy for yourself or your kid for the holidays, for take a look at our list of reasons to buy, and avoid, PUBG for Xbox right now.

You Can Pick Up & Put Down

You Can Pick Up & Put Down

One of the things we love about PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is that it's the type of game you can pickup and put down. If you or the person you're buying don't have a lot of time or money to invest in a video game, PUBG is a game you'll want to consider.

PUBG's an excellent alternative to Call of Duty: WW2's fast-paced action and Battlefield 1 where some matches can go for an hour or more.

Unlike those games and games like Star Wars Battlefront 2, PUBG doesn't come with a ranking system that forces you to play to access guns and other equipment. It also doesn't try and force micro-transactions down your throat, at least not yet.

PUBG is always an even playing field in terms of weapons and equipment and that makes it an attractive option for those that don't have tons of time to put into a game due to work or family life.

It's easy to hop on, enjoy a game or two, and hop off knowing you can pick it back up again in a week not having to worry about your friends or enemies out leveling you.
