Microsoft isn't offering a PUBG demo which means you can't try the game on your console until you buy it or track down a friend that owns it. There is, however, a game that will give you a taste of PUBG without having to spend $30 or rely on friends. 

Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play Xbox game that closely mirrors PUBG's concept. It's essentially a cartoony version of PUBG. 

While free-to-play might turn you off, Fortnite Battle Royale is actually pretty fun. More importantly, it'll help you decide of the battle royale format is something you enjoy. 

Who knows, maybe you'll stick with Fortnite over spending $30 on PUBG or maybe you'll find out battle royale style games just aren't for you.
