3 Reasons to Buy the Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass & 2 to Wait

Published

on

The Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass is a $50 add-on for the PS4, Xbox One and PC that nets buyers three expansion packs in 2016 and one in 2017. But do you really want or need it?

Earlier this year, EA DICE finally confirmed new content for Star Wars Battlefront, a game that was desperately in need of it.

In its announcement, the company touched on their upcoming Star Wars Battlefront DLC, paid content that delivers new maps, weapons, Star Cards, heroes, and more to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC versions of the game.

In the months since the game’s release, EA DICE, and its retailer partners, have been offering a $50 Season Pass that nets you all of this paid Battlefront DLC for one price.

While the company has made some key DLC details known, there are still some big question marks and it’s those mysteries that have some people undecided about the Season Pass.

This guide is going to run through some reasons why you might want to pick up the Battlefront Season Pass right now and why you might want to hold off, at least for the time being.

$50 for the Season Pass on Xbox One, PS4 and PC isn’t exactly cheap so you’ll definitely want to do your homework before committing more cash to Star Wars Battlefront, especially with a new version on its way next year.

You Want the DLC ASAP

You Want the DLC ASAP

This is arguably the best reason to pick up the Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass.

EA DICE grants Season Pass holders a two week exclusivity on the DLC releases. So when Outer Rim arrived in March, Season Pass holders got it two weeks before it was released as a standalone expansion for everyone else. Same thing goes for the Bespin DLC that was released on June 21st.

This applies to the next two expansions as well. So if you want to play the new modes and maps, use the new heroes and villains, and get used to the new weapons and Star Cards before everyone else, the Season Pass is the way to go.

The next DLC, Death Star, arrives sometime this fall.

While appallingly light on Content, the 50$ seasons pass is a slap in the face. Yes I want the stuff in the season pass, but I wanted it day one and included…something very reasonable to ask for when the rest of the game was so poor on content. but okay, I concede…lets get the rest of the game for the price of another game completely…except…it takes OVER A YEAR to get that content? EA…DICE…. wth do you guys take us for?

Does it include access to all DLCs forever or is it ONLY 2 WEEKS OF EARLY ACCESS?

DICE and EA step back a bit and consider whether their game is at the same level as the previous star wars battlefront games – or indeed console games in general. There’s no campaign mode – and paying for every little add on seems to be milking it a bit.
The game play and the graphics are excellent – a must for a star wars fan – however they should really add a campaign and add one for free – for those who have spent lots of money on this game.
If I had been a developer on this game and was proud of my work that’s what I would have been pushing for.
Star wars Battlefront 2 was a game to be proud of. This game fundamentally lacks offline game play and substance behind (admittedly amazing) star wars graphics

No paying 50 dollars for a season pass that’s junk if the season pass was maybe 20 bucks I could see paying that but the crap servers on battlefront the constant having to have all you party join a game instead of all at once and the lack of content is garbage and a slap in the face to have people pay 50 dollars for it. I mean really Dice you couldn’t think of a better way for parties to start a game together even the person you partner up with has to start his own game or he doesn’t get added to the game.

And the new heroes are stupid they are already in the game as a playable character. The game at the start was ok because it’s battlefront but you better do something drastic to the game to bring people back your ruining battlefront with the crap your putting out or lack of I should say. The crap servers that load for days. The crap party up system – I don’t even understand how that got in there in the first place who was the idiot that came up with that idea.

This game is lack in content, 4 maps with several almost identical game mode, only 2 fighters and 3 heroes to play with, shit levelling system. The game is fun in the first few days but get bored so quickly.
I wonder how many people is still playing after 1 year of the launch. The season pass is definitely a scam.

The BattleFront Season Pass is currently $34.99 for Playstation Plus subscribers on the Playstation Store for PS4. So a $15 off discount is to be had for those wanting to buy sooner than later. My question is will EA inevitably just release a Star Wars Battlefront Game of the Year edition? I would assume it’s bound to come out next year or in 2018, but I could be wrong.

If you held off this long then now’s a good time to buy the Season Pass for $19.49 in Week 3 of PS’s Holiday Sale.
