AT&T and HP have just announced availability of the HP TouchPad 4G, a device that will likely take advantage of AT&T’s HSPA+ network that will be out on an undisclosed date for an undisclosed price.

The interesting thing here is that HP has decided to bump the speed of the processor in the HP TouchPad 4G moving the chip from 1.2GHz to a faster 1.5GHz processor. It will also feature 32GB of storage and will offer 4G speeds. HP didn’t specify if this means HSPA+ or 4G LTE, remember AT&T is rolling out its LTE network this summer, but it’s safe to assume that this will be a HSPA+ device.

It’s interesting that HP would bump the processor speed so soon after the release of its Wi-Fi only version of the TouchPad but those planning on getting a one with cellular data won’t be the ones complaining.

As we said, no release date or pricing was available for the device right now but HP plans to get it out for ‘back to school’ so we should probably see it around the end of August, maybe even in early September.

We’ve been taking a look at the HP TouchPad and if you’re on the fence about whether or not you want one, be sure to check out our five reasons to consider one and five reasons to avoid it.
