Google Nexus 7 8GB Shipping Time Improves

Though the Google Nexus 7 is proving hard to find in-stores, the shipping time for the 8GB Nexus 7 model has seemingly improved through the Google Play Store.

Earlier today, the device was listed as shipping out in 1-2 weeks. However, sometime in the last couple of hours, the device has seen its shipping time improve to 3-5 days.

Its ‘Ships Soon’ icon has also been replaced with ‘In Stock’ which means those looking to get a Nexus 7 quickly will likely want to opt for this option.

The 8GB Nexus 7’s counterpart, the 16GB Nexus 7, has seen its shipping time slip. The 16GB Google Nexus 7 shipping estimates have dipped down to 3-4 weeks through the Google Play Store.

It’s the 16GB model that many retail stores have been selling, and selling out of. Stores like GameStop, Office Depot, and Staples only carry the 16GB model of the Jelly Bean tablet. The 8GB model is currently sold through Google’s Play Store and it’s unclear if the device will be headed to retailers in the future.

Thus far, the device has seen a bit of a bizarre launch as retailers have been sold out of the device and are sure when they will see their stock replenish.

Gamestop has said that it expects to fulfill more pre-orders come August and some Staples stores expect the device to arrive again sometime after July 16th.

Office Depot has no idea when the device will return to shelves and Sam’s Club seems to be the only place that might still have stock available.

All of these retailers are sold out online though, making the Nexus 7 a hard device to get a hold of.

However, for those that don’t need a lot of storage space, the 8GB Nexus 7 is in-stock at Google and if ordered today, might arrive later on this week.
