With IFA 2012 fast approaching, we are starting to hear rumors about what companies might announce at the event and today, LG’s new flagship LG Optimus G, a device that will likely be announced at IFA, has leaked.

According to Korean publication AsiaDaily, courtesy of PocketDroid, LG is cooking up a high-end device called the LG Optimus G which will apparently pair a quad-core processor with 4G LTE and a massive display.

Specifically, the device is rumored to be coming with a massive 4.7-inch IPS True HD display, a quad-core processor whose GHz count is unknown, 2GB of RAM, and a 13MP camera in the rear.

The Optimus G will apparently run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with LG’s new Optimus UI 3.0 over the top of it. We assume LG will deliver Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at a later date if it’s not on board from the very beginning.

The LG Optimus G, a high-end Android smartphone, has leaked.

LG’s Optimus G will apparently arrive in Asia at some point next month and we imagine that it might land elsewhere soon after.

Right now, bets are on an announcement taking place at IFA 2012 in Berlin which starts at the end of this month.

The news comes shortly after a rumor that stated that LG might be releasing a Nexus device later on in 2012. A roadmap leak from Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo’s indicates that Google might be offering up three Nexus smartphones at the very least.

The three rumored devices include the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2, the LG Optimus Nexus and the Sony Xperia Nexus. Google has been rumored to be releasing up to five Nexus smartphones this time around which means that HTC and Motorola remain possibilities as well.

That could mean that we’d see an HTC One Nexus and a Motorola Droid Nexus launch sometime later this year, possibly in November.

In any event, it looks like LG is still committed to releasing high-end Android phones though we have yet to see any significant ones launch in the U.S. in recent months.

That could change with the LG Optimus Nexus, the LG Optimus G, and the LG Optimus Vu which will apparently hit Verizon sometime this fall.
