2020 Hyundai Palisade: New 8 Passenger SUV With Beautiful Looks

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade is a bold new SUV that seats up to 8 people and includes impressive safety, tech and convenience features that help it stand out in the competitive midsize SUV market.

This is the largest Hyundai SUV ever, adding more room than the Sante Fe XL, and you can comfortably fit two adults in the third row with adequate legroom and headroom.

During an early look at the 2020 Palisade I was impressed with the interior quality and the amount of space inside the cabin in all rows. The front is very spacious and the materials are upscale.

Eight passenger seating is standard, or you can opt for captains chairs in the center row which drops the seating down to seven. The second row includes one touch seating to make it easier for kids to operate and for better access to the third row. The third row includes power folding and unfolding seats to quickly switch from passenger to cargo hauling.

The tech starts out with a 10.25 inch touch screen center display that can show a variety of information at the same time and with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get an in-car intercom that makes it easier to talk to passengers in the back seat.

Standard Hyundai SmartSense includes a range of really cool safety and convenience features.

If you haul kids around you will love the Safe Exit feature that uses the blind spot sensors to detect if traffic is coming and then lock the rear door from opening into traffic. Another handy feature is the Rear Occupant alert that uses sensors to detect if a kid or pet is in the car. When detected it will show a message on the screen, beep at you as you walk away and if you still don’t address it send you an alert on your phone with Blue Link.

The 2020 Palisade is available with optional HTRAC AWD that can track road conditions and vehicle speed to adjust the power and braking for better handling and control. There are three drive modes; Comfort, Smart and Sport. There is also a Snow mode designed to prevent wheel slip when you accelerate.

Towing capacity is 5,000 pounds standard and there is an optional Class III receiver hitch. Hyundai says it’s perfect for towing small boats and weekend toys.

Expect three trim levels and a 2020 Palisade release in early Summer 2019. No starting price is available at this time.
