Install iOS 12.1.4 for Group FaceTime

Install iOS 12.1.4 for Group FaceTime

If you skipped iOS 12.1/iOS 12.1.1/iOS 12.1.2/iOS 12.1.3, you'll get Group Face Time calls with your iOS 12.1.4 update. If you are currently running iOS 12.1, iOS 12.1.1, iOS 12.1.2, or iOS 12.1.3, you'll need to download iOS 12.1.4 in order to continue using Group FaceTime.

If you're running the latest version of iOS 12, FaceTime group video calls are integrated right into Messages making it easy to start up a group call with co-workers, family members, or friends.

The feature supports up to 32 callers on one call, but you'll only see the people talking or people you want to focus on on the screen. Everyone else is shown in a roster on the bottom of the call.

Group FaceTime calls allow you to add your Memoji or Animoji if you own an iPhone X, iPhone XS, or iPhone XS Max and you can also use filters if your heart desires.

iOS 12.1 also brought some other improvements to FaceTime including:

  • Automatic detection of active speakers: FaceTime uses on-device intelligence to display the most prominent speakers on the call, automatically highlighting the current speaker by bringing them to the forefront. It automatically sizes each person’s image depending upon how active they are in the conversation, based on duration of speech, volume and even motion. Participants who are not active will appear at the bottom of the screen until they speak. A simple tap also brings a participant front and center.

  • Ringless notification: When calling more than one person, FaceTime displays a notification that lets you instantly join a call without being disruptive.

  • Messages integration: Group FaceTime is integrated into the Messages app, making it easy to start a Group FaceTime right from a group iMessage chat. If people in a conversation have already started a FaceTime session, Messages shows the active call in the conversation list and inside your conversations.

  • Private: All FaceTime conversations, both one-to-one and multi-person, are encrypted end to end so they remain private and viewable only by the participants.

If you're a heavy FaceTime user, you'll want to download iOS 12.1.4. Again, the feature is permanently disabled on iOS 12.1, iOS 12.1.1, iOS 12.1.2, and iOS 12.1.3 so you'll need to download iOS 12.1.4 in order to use it.

iOS 12.1 has a SERIOUS security flaw, enabling stealing your contacts via a mere phone call!!! DO NOT UPGRADE!!!

Fix the Facebook photo orientation please. Landscape photos keep going in portrait mode when using iPad in landscape mode. I am using iPad Pro First generation. 12.9 inch. 128 Gig if that helps.

    Hi!
I have an iPhone SE..and now I have the iOS 12.1
I am really scared to download this new update 12.1.3, because I’m afraid my phone is gonna crash, get really slow, or something else that makes it worse.
I think I’ll just wait a little bit more., What do you think?
It does seem like my battery goes down very quickly..and my phone is not that old (I bought it in the fall of 2017..
Apart from the battery (and that it dies in the cold.. which it actually always have), it works fine.

But I miss being able to take Live Photo’s on Facetime!! I have nieces and nephews in other countries, so I really want that back. Is that feature on this new update?

Hope I’ll get some feedback from you guys!☺️ Is it best to just wait with this update?
