Install iPadOS 14.2 If You Own AirPods
If you own a pair of AirPods, think about installing iPadOS 14.2.
The update includes optimized battery charging for AirPods to slow the rate of battery aging by reducing the time your AirPods spends fully charged.
You'll also get headphone audio level notifications to alert you when audio level could impact your hearing.
If your device is still running iPadOS 13, your iPadOS 14.2 upgrade includes spatial audio for AirPods Pro.
iPadOS 14 brings spatial audio to the AirPods Pro. With the latest AirPods Pro firmware and iPadOS 14 installed, dynamic head tracking on AirPods Pro will put sound coming from your buds anywhere in space which creates a surround sound-like experience.
The update includes a feature called automatic device switching which allows you to seamlessly move between devices without manually switching your AirPods.
So for instance if you finish up a call on your iPhone and then pick up an iPad to watch a movie, your AirPods will automatically switch over.
iPadOS 14 also includes battery notifications that let you know if you need to charge your AirPods. The notification will popup at the top of your iPad's display.
