If you recently bought AirTags, and you skipped iPadOS 14.8, iPadOS 14.7.1, iPadOS 14.7 and iPadOS 14.6, you'll want to download iPadOS 14.8.1.

iPadOS 14.6 added a new Lost mode option that lets you add an email address instead of a phone number for AirTag and Find My network accessories. You'll get this feature with iPadOS 14.8.1 if you missed the three previous versions of iPadOS 14.
