Wait for More Info About Progression & Transactions

Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been making headlines due to a controversial progression system that requires gamers to grind for hours, or pay real money, to unlock items and heroes.

Some of these heroes, like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, were available at the very start of the Battlefront game from 2015.

Fortunately, EA and DICE have made some concessions due to the complaints from fans and those who pre-ordered (and cancelled their pre-order).

DICE's reduced the amount of credits needed to unlock the game's top heroes by 75%. This means Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now be available for 15,000 credits while Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa will be available for 10,000 credits. Iden is available at 5,000 credits. Credits are earned in-game, but you can also pay real money to obtain them faster.

This is much better than it once was, but it still requires you to put in many hours, hours that you or your kid might not have, to open up some of the game's best features.

With the pressure on EA and DICE, we could see the developer make additional changes down the road. In fact, EA says changes will be "constant" in Battlefront 2.

If you're feeling unsure, and it's probably hard to trust EA right now, you might want to hold off on a pre-order.

Wait for additional announcements and tweaks and wait for additional feedback from those playing the game.

Did they get rid of all the cheating going on in the first game? If not, what’s the point of getting this one? Players able to kill in one shot with crap weapons from across the battlefield, jet packs that are always charged, shooting someone in the FACE repeatedly and they don’t die, turn and shoot you once and you’re dead. It goes on and on and on and yeah you can report people but they never seem to be banned and an entire game of cheaters is back the next day. Do you have control of your damned game this time or not??

Preordering is why EA keeps beating up your favourite titles. If you’d stop that stupidity they’d actually pay more attention to what they’re doing.

You’ve already let them know that all they need to do for your money is release a fantastically early announcement coupled with a snazzy teaser trailer and everyone will make them richer.

Invite them to work for their money for a change.
