There are some great reasons to pre-order a copy of Mortal Kombat 11, but there are also some great reasons to put your wallet away and wait.

Mortal Kombat 11 is the latest installment in the popular fighting series and it’s headed to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch next month.

The Mortal Kombat 11 release date is just weeks away and the game is on sale at various retailers ahead of its April 23rd street date in North America.

With the release date on the horizon, many of you are probably considering a pre-order. Pre-ordering a copy lets you try the game ahead of its release date and it also nets you an additional bonus. There are also some ways to save some money on a copy of the game.

You can pre-order the game at Amazon, Best Buy, Steam, GameStop, the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, or through Walmart.

Of course, there are also a few reasons why you might want to hold off and wait a few weeks before committing to the new title from NetherRealm Studios.

In this guide we’ll take you through best reasons to pre-order Mortal Kombat 11 and the best reasons to think about waiting a few more weeks, or longer, to buy the game.

Pre-Order to Try the Game Early

Pre-Order to Try the Game Early

If you want to try Mortal Kombat 11 before the April 23rd release date you'll want to pre-order a copy of the game.

Pre-ordering any version of Mortal Kombat 11 grants you access to the game's closed beta which kicks off later on this month.

NetherRealms Studios says the Mortal Kombat 11 beta kicks off on March 28th and will stretch until March 31st.

It'll be available for Xbox One and PS4 which means Nintendo Switch and Windows PC players will need to find another reason to pre-order the game.

We don't know how much of the game will be available in the beta but you can expect a fair amount of content given how close we are to the release date.

Expect Online Vs., several characters, and if we're lucky, a training mode that will help you get familiar with the new mechanics ahead of the release.

The closed beta is different than the online "stress test" that launches on March 15th and lasts until March 17th.
