5 Best Android Smartphones [December, 2013]

on

It’s the final month of the year and that means that we probably won’t see any big new Android smartphones make an appearance before the year is out. However, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a fantastic selection already. In fact, there are a ton of big name smartphones from 2013 currently on shelves, tempting holiday shoppers. We’d hate for consumers to have to dig through them all so we want to offer up what we consider to be the five best Android smartphones.

For the past year, we have seen Android manufacturers deliver the best they have to offer. In the beginning of the year, we saw Sony jump right out of the gate with the Sony Xperia Z. A few weeks later, the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4 arrived to compete against Android rivals and the iPhone. A few months later, we saw the Moto X and the LG G2 arrive. Since then, phones like the Galaxy S4 mini, HTC One mini, Moto G, Nexus 5, Galaxy Note 3, and more have come to grace the shelves of carriers in the United States and elsewhere.

Having this amount of choice is pretty incredible but it also makes things extremely difficult for those that are looking to buy a brand new smartphone. Some months have been easy on consumers, December is not one of those months due to the fact that we’ve seen the last of the 2013 crop of smartphones emerge. In other words, the market is loaded.

Those who have their finger in the pulse of the smartphone industry have likely been able to narrow down their choices to one or two possibilities. Others, don’t even know where to begin. And it’s the latter of the two that were are trying to help here.

Here, with holiday shoppers in mind, we take a look at what we consider to be the five best Android smartphones for the month of December, 2013.

Nexus 5

Nexus 5

We considered the Nexus 5 to be one of the best Android smartphones on the market before this week's Android 4.4.1 KitKat update and now that Google has upgraded the camera, it has the potential to be even better than it once was.

The Nexus 5's camera was arguably its worst feature. It could shoot decent photos and video, but nothing that set it apart from other devices, including last year's Nexus 4. These improvements should help to make it a better all around experience.

Of course, the camera is just one small part of the phone. The Nexus 5 also has an impressive screen, design and vanilla Android. It has also one of the cheapest price tags around. Simply put, it's one of the premier Android smartphones.

The Moto X should be ranked higher. It’s definitely better than the S4. I sold two S4’s to get the Moto X Developer Edition.

The overall experience for me. The Active Notifications and Touchless Controls. The battery life. Form factor, it’s very comfortable in hand. The reception and signal is better for me where I live.

I quit working at shoprite to work online and with a little effort I easily bring in around $95 – $115 per/h. Without a doubt, this is the easiest and most financially rewarding job I’ve ever had. I actually started 6 months ago and this has totally changed my life. Here’s what I do…. Јobs95.Сom
