Amazon's Kindle Fire HDX is another solid 7-inch slate that consumers will want to weigh against the likes of the iPad and Nexus 7.

Unlike the Nexus 7, the Kindle Fire HDX does not run Android 4.4 KitKat. Instead, it runs a heavily modified version of Android that looks nothing like the Android you see on most smartphones and tablets. The Kindle Fire HDX's software is heavily tied into Amazon's many services which provide easy access to content like music, applications, books and yes, movies and television shows.

That, combined with its gorgeous display, fantastic design, and solid battery life and you have a tablet that deserves a spot on shopping lists during the month of June. It's that good.
