5 Best Tablets [February, 2015]

Published

on

Consumers in the hunt for a brand new tablet this month are going to encounter a wide variety of options from the iPad to the many Android slates that dot the landscape. We want to help narrow these tablet options down for you and here, we take a look at the devices we think are the five best tablets money can buy in the early part of the year.

Last year, companies released some of their best tablet offerings yet. That’s a good thing because we haven’t seen too many new tablets emerge in the first two months of the year.

The tablet market has, unsurprisingly, been extremely quiet though we did see one slate fly in under the radar in January. That tablet, the Dell Venue 8 7000, has quickly asserted itself as one of the sleeper hits of the year. Dell’s new tablet isn’t alone. It faces stiff opposition from companies like Apple, Microsoft and Samsung. The Venue 8 7000 is just one of many tablets we think you should look at if you’re in the market for a new slate in February.

We are constantly bombarded with questions about which tablet to buy. In particular, we’re constantly asked about the tablets consumers should weigh against one another. There are a number of different devices that we could recommend, the tablet market is full of solid choices, but we want to narrow things down a bit and take a look at what we consider to be the top five.

These slates represent the devices that we’d recommend to friends and family. And while our list may differ from yours, these are the devices that Gotta Be Mobile editors have selected for recognition this month. We feel like the devices listed here deliver the best, all-around package for this month and this month alone.

Here are the five best tablets for February, 2015.

iPad Air 2

iPad Air 2

Apple's new iPad Air 2 is arguably the best iPad that Apple's ever made. It's so good that it's probably not going to leave this list until Apple decides to replace it with something new later this year. We haven't seen or heard any iPad Air 3 rumors so it's going to be sticking around for awhile.

The second-generation iPad Air 2 comes with several upgrades. It comes with a thinner design that makes it a little more portable than its predecessor. It comes with better anti-glare technology and faster Wi-Fi speeds. The iPad Air 2 rear camera is also better than the camera on the original iPad Air.

The new iPad Air 2 isn't cheap but it's a device that will last users several years. Apple offers at least three years of software support before cutting devices off. In the case of the iPad 2, Apple's offered four.

Apple's new iPad Air is a device worth investigating during the month of February. We think most of you are going to like what you see.
