Galaxy Note 8.0

Docking your phone to your tablet is certainly one way to bridge the gap between to the traditional smartphone and tablet form factors. Samsung has gone the direct route and created the biggest phone you’ll ever see – for at least another year.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is a behemoth. With its 8-inch screen, quad-core 1.6 GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, your neighbors will finally stop asking you if you’re talking to yourself when using a Bluetooth headset.

Though we’ve had some reservations about the user interface paradigm (the phone will be powered by Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, and Samsung’s homegrown TouchWiz skin, however exact details on whether it’ll be customized to better take advantage of the unique form factor are still missing), Samsung will be employing its S Pen functionality to help make the transition between phone and tablet easier. There’s just something diabolical about Samsung giving us the option to get a full on tablet that happens to make phone calls.
