Some smartphones are exciting because they’re stylish. Other smartphones are exciting because they represent a giant leap in technology. Others are exciting because they tread lightly on our wallets.

This isn’t to say that Nokia is pushing some features-limited addition to their Lumia line of Windows Phone handsets. In fact, it’s the exact opposite. The Nokia Lumia 720 offers all of the things you’ve come to expect from their highly respected Finish manufacturer, including a 4.3 ClearBlack display with a resolution of 800 x 400 (you can’t tell where the phone’s screen ends and it’s body begins), a respectable 6.7 MP rear-facing camera and 1.3 MP front-facing camera for snapping a quick picture when no one is paying attention, and a dual-core 1 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and 512 MB of RAM for parsing all of your incoming Twitter stream quickly and efficiently.

As with all phones, there are some tradeoffs at that price point. If you want to add compatibility with Nokia’s wireless charging docks it’ll cost you the price of one of Nokia’s Charging Shells. Internal memory is maxed out at 8GB of storage however, but you can add up to a 64GB MicroSD card to make that a non-issue. Really, the only compromise is that there is no support for faster 4G LTE networks with the device.

All of this amounts to a fantastic smartphone at just 249 euros, or $341, for those in China, The Middle East and the larger Asia region. There’s no word on if the Lumia 720 will make its way to U.S. shores.
